Olena Ivanova has been a music educator for over 20 years, teaching children as young as 4 and adults.

A native of Ukraine, Olena began her piano studies at the age of 7 in the city of Ternopil in the western part of the country.

      After completing a standard 7-year program at the elementary music school, she continued her education and received her Bachelor's degree in music theory and music history from Ternopil's Music College.  

     In 1990 she began her study at the prestigious  Lviv State Music Academy, as a piano soloist and a chamber performer.

Music theory, history, and pedagogy were also part of her studies.

     In 1994 she graduated with honors and received a Master's degree in Musicology. Upon completing her education, she worked as an assistant professor of Music Education and Pedagogy at Ternopil Pedagogical University. 

     She began working in the USA in 2003, building her own private piano studio at Meridian Music School in Carmel Indiana.  As a teacher, she enjoys working with young beginners as well as advanced students, helping them discover the world of beautiful music through fun and unique learning experiences.

 

  Lessons are tailored based on the students' age and experience. Students are encouraged to perform at recitals and participate in competitions.

 

         Olena received Meridian Music's Teacher of the Year Award in 2006 and the Steinway Excellence in Teaching Award. In addition to teaching privately at her HOME STUDIO in Noblesville , Olena is in high demand as an accompanist, especially at competitions. She enjoys writing music for children and arranging music for young beginners. Olena's teaching philosophy is simple: if you like and want to learn, she will teach you how to understand, feel and play music.
